Description

Nitrile (or NBR) O-Rings are most commonly available and are cost effective.Ideal for use as seals on pumps, drive belts, and other general engineering applications.
NBR is good for applications that need to withstand fats, Greases and high temperature (+70°C).
For automotive applications requiring contact with petrol or diesel you may wish to consider Polymax Viton o ring kits

Description

FKM (Viton ®) O Rings have a low compression set and have high temperature and chemical resistance. More expensive than NBR O Rings.

The terms FPM, FKM and Viton® very often cause confusion and lead to incorrect interpretations. All of these designations actually stand for one single base material:fluoro rubber.

NORSOK approved compound also available on request.

ORingen van EPDM

Informatie

EPDM-materialen zijn in de regel goed bestand tegen heet water, waterdamp, veroudering en chemicaliën en maken vele thermische toepassingen mogelijk.

Zij worden onderverdeeld in met zwavel en peroxide gevulkaniseerde typen, waarbij de peroxide mengsels thermisch hoger belast kunnen worden en een duidelijk geringere vervormingsrest vertonen.

  • Wasmiddel-, natron- en kalilogen
  • Silicone oliën en vetten
  • Vele polaire oplossingsmiddelen
  • Vele verdunde zuren en chemicaliën
  • Atmosferische condities; ozon, zonlicht, UV

Niet geschikt voor contact met:
  • Producten op basis van minerale olie (smeeroliën, motorbrandstoffen).

Description

Silicone possess excellent resistance to temperature extremes. Silicone's retention of properties at high temperatures is superior to other elastic materials. Silicone has poor tensile strength, tear resistance and abrasion resistance.

Description

PTFE O-rings have an almost universal chemical resistance including virtually all known acids, alkalis and solvents. The material is very tough and abrasion resistant and PTFE also has a wide temperature range from -200°C up to +250°C (intermittent.) However, PTFE O-rings are not easily compressed and have little memory to be able to return to their original form. This can be a disadvantage if under permanent strain and may not create a lasting seal as easily as some other polymers.

Chemical resistance

  • Excellent resistance to almost all chemicals
  • Not subject to ageing, so a near infinite shelf / storage life
  • Can be use in food, chemical and medical industries (among others)
  • Low elasticity (memory), making it unsuitable for dynamic applications unless energised by suitable material (I.E. rubber)
  • Low coefficient of friction

Not compatible with:
  • Low compression vacuum sealing flanges
  • High vacuum seals
  • High temperature steam.
